PROWLING does not use palm oil as a standalone ingredient in its formulations. However, some ingredients may contain palm oil-based components, such as palmitic acid. These are usually present in very small amounts and are found in most products.

All ingredients containing palm oil components are certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). They therefore come from responsibly managed and sustainably grown sources.

Not all alcohols are created equal, and they are not inherently harmful to the skin. At PROWLING, every ingredient is carefully scrutinized to ensure safe use.

The only sulfate used in PROWLING formulations is Sodium Coco Sulfate (SCS). It is approved by the COSMOS certification body. SCS does not penetrate the epidermis and is considered significantly less irritating compared to commonly used Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS).

Ascorbyl Palmitate is a stable, oil-soluble form of vitamin C. It is formed by combining ascorbic acid with palmitic acid and is used in formulations for its antioxidant properties.

Yes. All products are formulated without parabens, mineral oils, silicones, PEGs, chemical UV filters, microplastics, synthetic fragrances, artificial colorants, and other questionable ingredients.

Airless packaging protects product freshness by reducing contact with air. For this reason, no period-after-opening (PAO) is specified. Instead, the best-before date indicated on the packaging is authoritative.

The product can be used safely and effectively until this date – regardless of when it was first opened. Always check the best-before date to ensure that the recommended period of use has not been exceeded.

Yes. PROWLING products are designed for cold conditions. Should a product freeze during transit, it can still be safely used once it has warmed to normal temperature.

What to do if your product has frozen:

Allow it to stand at room temperature for approximately 24 hours before use.

Once completely thawed, it should function as usual and retain its effectiveness.

Organic Certified Formulations

For organic certification, at least 95% of all ingredients must be of natural origin. In addition, at least 10% of the entire formulation must come from organic farming; 95% of all plant-based ingredients must also be of organic origin.

1. What type of alcohol is used in natural cosmetics?

Certified natural cosmetics exclusively use natural ethyl alcohol (ethanol), also known as food-grade or grain alcohol. It is obtained from fermented plant-based raw materials such as wheat, rye, corn, or sugar cane.

Note: Not all "alcohols" are the same. Substances like glycerin or menthol are distinctly different. Here, only ethyl alcohol is meant.

2. Does alcohol dry out the skin?

No.

Studies show that ethanol does not increase transepidermal water loss and thus does not strip moisture from the skin. In some cases, alcohol-based disinfectants are even considered gentler on the skin than water and soap.

3. Does alcohol irritate the skin?

No.
